Our Story
Founded in 2005 in Ningbo, China, ASCENDER has grown from a lighting manufacturer into an integrated ecosystem connecting design, manufacturing, brands, products, projects, and market services.

Meet The Team
Founder & C.E.O., ASCENDER
Harold ZHONG
Harold leads the development of ASCENDER as an international lighting and design platform, with overall responsibilities across strategy, marketing, operations, brand development and global expansion.
With more than a decade of C-level management experience, Harold brings strong leadership, commercial vision and entrepreneurial drive to the company. His work focuses on building a structured ecosystem that connects product development, lighting design, project solutions, partner networks and long-term brand value.
Under ASCENDER, Harold oversees the development of several key brands and platforms, including MEERA LIGHT, a professional lighting solutions brand; ZHONG/SPACE, an emerging platform for original design and artistic lighting objects; and ASCENDER, the company’s OEM and international business platform. He is also developing M.HOUSE as a lighting club and community space, designed to connect designers, partners, brands and project opportunities.
Harold is also an important public face of ASCENDER. He travels frequently to exhibitions, international markets and partner meetings, listening closely to clients, designers and distributors. These insights are brought back into the company’s product, marketing and service systems, helping ASCENDER and its brands continue to evolve with the market and move forward with clarity.

Grace LI
Grace is responsible for financial planning, budgeting and business analysis across the company. She plays an important role in evaluating the financial and strategic impact of new business opportunities, helping the management team make more informed and sustainable decisions.
Grace leads the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting and financial reporting coordination. She also conducts scenario analysis for different business situations, providing clear financial insights to support company strategy, operational planning and resource allocation.
Working closely with key managers across different departments, Grace helps improve information flow between finance, operations, sales and management. Her work supports a more structured and transparent decision-making process within the company.
Grace also participates in cross-functional initiatives to improve financial reporting, planning systems and analysis capabilities, helping the company build a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

David TIAN
David plays a key role in shaping and executing the product strategy across the ASCENDER ecosystem, supporting the development of multiple brands and platforms, including MEERA LIGHT, ZHONG/SPACE and ASCENDER.
With a strong understanding of market trends, customer needs and technical feasibility, David leads the development of innovative lighting products from initial concept to launch and life-cycle management. His work connects design vision, engineering development, supplier coordination and market application, ensuring that new products are both creative and practical for real project use.
David works closely with the sales, design and technical teams to understand client requirements, project challenges and market feedback. These insights are then translated into product improvements, customized solutions and new development directions across ASCENDER’s product system.
Through structured planning, hands-on product management and continuous refinement, David helps strengthen ASCENDER’s product competitiveness in terms of design, functionality, performance and commercial value. His role is essential in turning ideas into reliable lighting products that can meet market demand and support the company’s long-term growth.
NMCD (Brand) Officer
Ivan CHEN
Ivan is responsible for new media channel development and digital communication across all ASCENDER brands and platforms, including MEERA LIGHT, ZHONG/SPACE, ASCENDER and M.HOUSE.
With experience in new media, digital marketing and content strategy, Ivan helps build and manage the company’s online presence through structured content planning, social media operations and digital storytelling. His work supports the visibility of ASCENDER’s full brand ecosystem and helps communicate its product value, design language, project capabilities and market activities to a wider audience.
Ivan leads the development of digital channels across multiple platforms, creating content that connects products, projects, exhibitions, design concepts and partner activities. By combining brand awareness, audience engagement and data-driven analysis, he helps improve the company’s communication efficiency and strengthen its connection with clients, designers, distributors and industry partners.
Through continuous content development and digital channel management, Ivan plays an important role in expanding ASCENDER’s overall brand influence and supporting its long-term international growth.
Production Manager
Daniel ZHAO
Daniel serves as Production Manager within the ASCENDER ecosystem, overseeing manufacturing operations and production coordination across the company’s lighting brands and platforms.
With strong expertise in lighting production, process planning and manufacturing control, Daniel ensures that every stage of production is carried out with precision, efficiency and consistency. His work covers production scheduling, workshop coordination, quality control, cost management and delivery follow-up, helping the company maintain reliable output for both standard products and project-based requirements.
Daniel works closely with management, product development, technical and production teams to keep workflows organized and responsive. He places strong emphasis on safety, cost efficiency, punctual delivery and stable product quality, ensuring that ASCENDER’s production system can support market demand and long-term brand growth.
Through his professionalism, execution ability and deep understanding of lighting manufacturing, Daniel plays an important role in turning product concepts and client requirements into reliable finished products.
Quality Assurance Manager
Liu WU
Liu is a key member of the Quality Assurance team within the ASCENDER ecosystem, with nearly five years of dedicated experience in quality control and product quality management.
He specializes in supply chain quality management, production quality control and product assurance, ensuring that materials, components and finished products meet the company’s quality standards. His work covers supplier quality evaluation, incoming material inspection, production process control, finished product inspection and quality issue follow-up.
With a strong understanding of lighting products and related quality standards, Liu is experienced in quality audits and manufacturing process evaluation. His expertise also extends to the material characteristics of key lighting components, including light sources, drivers, metals, plastics, glass and ceramics.
Guided by his work principle, “zero tolerance for quality issues,” Liu plays an important role in maintaining the reliability, consistency and long-term reputation of ASCENDER’s products across all brands and platforms.
Sr. Business Support Manager
Wendy SHE
Wendy serves as Senior Business Support Manager, supporting both MEERA LIGHT’s project-based lighting solutions and ASCENDER’s OEM business operations.
With extensive experience in commercial, residential and hospitality lighting projects, Wendy provides structured support throughout the business and project process, from client inquiries, product selection and quotation preparation to order coordination, project follow-up and internal communication.
Her understanding of architectural lighting, decorative lighting and project requirements enables her to help clients identify suitable solutions while ensuring that technical, commercial and delivery details are properly coordinated. Wendy works closely with sales, product, design, production and logistics teams to keep communication clear and execution efficient.
Wendy supports Saudi Arabia and other international markets, playing an important role in maintaining client relationships, coordinating project information and supporting the successful delivery of both MEERA LIGHT solutions and ASCENDER OEM projects. Gary serves as Business Support Manager, supporting both MEERA LIGHT’s project-based lighting solutions and ASCENDER’s OEM business operations.
Since joining the company, Gary has quickly become a reliable member of the business support team. With a strong sense of responsibility, proactive communication and practical execution, he supports clients and internal teams throughout the business process.
Gary is involved in client inquiries, product selection, quotation coordination, technical communication, project follow-up and order execution. Jack ZHOU
Jack has been deeply involved in the building materials industry for many years, with extensive local resources and hands-on experience in project implementation. His strong understanding of construction processes, site coordination and client requirements enables him to support the successful delivery of MEERA LIGHT projects with efficiency and precision.
Jack serves as the leader of M.HOUSE Ningbo, MEERA LIGHT’s local lighting club and service hub in Ningbo. In this role, he is responsible for localized client service, project coordination and installation management, while also supporting MEERA LIGHT project execution across the Chinese market.
With a skilled installation team and a practical execution mindset, Jack helps ensure that MEERA LIGHT’s lighting solutions are properly implemented on site. From project communication to final installation, he focuses on efficiency, quality and reliable service.
Through his local leadership and national project support capability, Jack plays an important role in strengthening MEERA LIGHT’s service network in China and supporting the final stage of lighting solution delivery.

Lisa LIU
Lisa is an accomplished business development professional with over 10 years of experience in project sales, channel development and client relationship management. Prior to joining the team, she worked with MOORGEN Germany, where she focused on project sales and long-term client support.
Lisa is responsible for developing and managing MEERA LIGHT’s builder channel across the Chinese market, with a particular focus on real estate developers, property groups, brand clients and other project-driven partners.
With strong expertise in regional management, channel distribution, key account development and strategic planning, Lisa plays an important role in identifying project opportunities, building client relationships and supporting business growth in China.
Her deep understanding of the builder channel, combined with her practical sales experience and market insight, helps MEERA LIGHT strengthen its presence in project-based markets and create more opportunities with developers and strategic clients.

Mohamed DAOUD is a Product Designer within the ASCENDER ecosystem, with a primary focus on MEERA LIGHT’s STYLE and ELEMENTS collections, while also supporting the creative development of ZHONG/SPACE.
With a multicultural background and strong cross-cultural communication abilities, Mohamed brings an international perspective to product design. Fluent in Arabic, English and Chinese, he is able to connect different markets, cultures and design languages, especially between China and the Middle East.
In his role, Mohamed works on concept development, product styling, design refinement and product implementation for decorative lighting, lighting objects and lifestyle-oriented product lines. His understanding of Middle Eastern and Islamic culture, combined with global design awareness, helps the team develop products that are culturally sensitive, commercially relevant and aesthetically refined.

Jason LI
Jason LI is an experienced lighting designer responsible for MEERA LIGHT’s project lighting design across Greater China.
He graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a background in architecture and environmental art, and later earned a master’s degree in design art. His academic foundation gives him a strong understanding of space, aesthetics and the relationship between light, architecture and human experience.
Jason has worked with leading design firms, including City Group and CCD, and has been involved in a wide range of projects covering urban spaces, hotels, clubs, commercial environments and private villas. With deep experience in international hotel standards, project design and on-site execution, he is able to develop lighting solutions that balance visual quality, technical performance, energy efficiency and practical implementation.
In his role at MEERA LIGHT, Jason supports project lighting design from concept development and lighting strategy to technical coordination and project execution. His design approach focuses on creating human-centric lighting environments that enhance spatial value while meeting real project requirements.

Nan LI is an experienced lighting designer supporting MEERA LIGHT’s project lighting design across Greater China.

Justin ZHAO
Justin ZHAO is an experienced lighting designer supporting MEERA LIGHT’s overseas project lighting design and implementation.

Alex WANG
Alex WANG provides lighting design support for MEERA LIGHT projects, contributing to design development, technical coordination and project presentation.
Since entering the lighting design field after graduating in 2013, Alex has gained over a decade of practical experience across commercial, cultural, public and corporate projects. His previous project involvement includes work related to the 2022 Winter Olympics mascot lighting design, Wanda Commercial Plaza in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Provincial Museum and Minsheng Bank Shijiazhuang Headquarters.
With a careful and problem-solving approach, Alex supports the team in refining lighting concepts, preparing design materials and coordinating technical details. His work helps ensure that lighting solutions are developed with both visual quality and practical feasibility in mind.

Warehouse & Inventory Manager
Lei YANG
Lei YANG is responsible for warehouse and inventory management across the ASCENDER ecosystem, overseeing warehouse operations for the company’s brands and business platforms.
Her work covers multiple warehouse locations, including the Zhongshan central warehouse, Ningbo project warehouse and other regional storage sites. She manages material receipt, stock issuance, inventory records, warehouse coordination and daily operational control.
With more than 5,000 SKUs under management, Lei plays an important role in maintaining inventory accuracy, improving warehouse efficiency and supporting timely delivery for standard products, project orders and OEM business needs.
By implementing practical inventory management practices and maintaining close attention to detail, Lei helps reduce operational errors, control stock movement and ensure that materials and products are properly organized across different warehouse locations.
